The successful candidate will perform assignments supporting technical projects in the office and in the field. Key tasks include: • Geologic logging. • Soil, surface water, groundwater and sediment monitoring in compliance with Company and regulatory methodologies. • Supervision of subcontractors, such as drillers, heavy equipment operators and surveyors during the construction of monitoring wells, soil borings and remediation systems, etc. • Installation, operation, calibration, maintenance of scientific instrumentation in remote field settings. • Collection of aquifer test data, infiltration test data, sediment transport data, etc. • Assisting with data analysis and report preparation. • Verification of field and laboratory data quality. • Participating and supporting safety and diversity operations in the office and in the field. • Interacting with clients, public and regulatory agency staff. Required Qualifications: • B.S. and/or M.S. degree in either (1) Geology/ Hydrogeology, (2) Environmental Science (with geology/hydrogeology course work), or (3) Environmental Engineering. • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel. • Ability to work independently at remote work sites. • Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills. • Excellent work ethic. • Strong communication and documentation skills. • Experience and comfort in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and aptitude and willingness to learn and in the use other windows driven computer programs. • Desire and aptitude for continuous learning. • Strong organizational skills. • Desire to work with a variety of staff from different disciplines. Special Demands: Willing and able to travel, undertake regular field work, sometimes in remote locations accessible only by off-road vehicles or on foot, and lift 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Greater than 50% of time will be spent in the field. Field work is undertaken each month of the year, sometimes in challenging terrain (including water bodies) and inclement weather conditions. The field work may also be at locations containing hazardous substances. Additional Requirements: • Driving record that is insurable through the Company’s insurance policies. • Completion of mandated Company and client health and safety training including OSHA HAZWOPER and MSHA Mine Safety Training.
