Evelyn, the author of this blog, is a geologist, writer, traveler, and aspiring polyglot. She is currently a 5th-year PhD student in the MIT/Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program. She will obtain her doctorate in Marine Geology & Geophysics (with a Geochemistry focus) sometime in 2011. She has a B.A. double major in Earth Science and Arabic from Dartmouth College. One reason she writes this blog is to maintain her sanity as she finishes up her PhD. In the midst of much stress, long days in lab, and long nights writing thesis chapters, she writes to remind herself of why she loves geology. She also writes to document some of her geological adventures and to share her love of geology with others.
