This blog is presented by Dr. David Keeling. He joined the faculty at WKU in 1993 after completing his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Oregon. His research focuses on the role of transportation in the global economy and how globalization forces are impacting regions like Latin America at multiple scales. He has published books on Buenos Aires and Argentina, as well as chapters in edited volumes on regional development in Mexico, transport and World Cities, waterfront redevelopment, and transport challenges for Latin America. Dr. Keeling also writes OpEd commentaries as a member of the American Geographical Society’s Writers Circle - his Op Eds have appeared in newspapers around the country, including the San Francisco Chronicle, the Fort-Worth Star Telegram , the Lexington Herald-Leader, and the Anchorage Press.
